F

rom its inception, Christ Church School has
maintained its mission to educate and nurture the
whole child in a caring, Christian environment.

Our faculty continues to go above and beyond to help
every child find success academically, spiritually,
and emotionally.

Additionally, we make consistent efforts to revolutionize our
teaching methodologies. An assortment of high tech and
low tech hands-on learning tools purchased with funds
raised by our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) support
classroom maker spaces that are thought-provoking, collab-
orative, and project-based. Students are immersed in chal-
lenging activities that teach them to face complexity.
Professional development for teachers and a resolute com-
mitment to the enhancement of our academic program re-
mains a priority at CCS. We continue to build a solid
academic foundation by nurturing 21st century skills. These
skills are sharpened through our various enrichments, in-
cluding art, music, physical education, character education,
library and media. Students in our classrooms explore
through curiosity, inquiry, imagination, problem solving, col-
laboration, and entrepreneurial thinking. Innovative maker
activities that value learning through direct experience from
creating something shareable complement the rigorous cur-
riculum at CCS.

Today, we have the capability to give every child the tools,
materials, and context to achieve their potential. The natural
inclinations of children and the power of learning by doing
are fueled in the following ways:

• Fabrication Lab
• STEAM Challenges
• Iterative Design
• Rapid Prototyping
• Coding
• Programming
• Scientific Research
• Collaborative Learning

Maker spaces, innovation labs (iLabs) and maker devices
provide hands on experiences that were unimaginable just
a few years ago. Students can take part in challenging iter-
ative design that inspires them to dig deeper. “We” are
smarter than “me;” collaboration on projects of
intense personal interest drive the need to share ideas and
lessons learned.
