The Super Bowl of Air Shows returns to
Fort Lauderdale Beach on May 7-8, 2016
as the Fort Lauderdale Air Show soars
over the oceanfront once again!

The return of the Fort Lauderdale Air Show after a three-
year hiatus will feature three jet demonstration teams! For
the first time in North America, teams from the United
States, Canada and Europe will gather together and
perform at a waterfront air show. The U.S. Air Force
Thunderbirds will be joined by the Canadian Air Force
Snowbirds and the Breitling Jet Team from France in an
international aviation spectacle over the surf and sand of
Fort Lauderdale Beach!  Past headliners have included the
Blue Angels, the Thunderbirds and the Army Golden
Knights parachute team, as well as appearances by some
of the U.S. military’s newest and most sophisticated fighter
jets and other aircraft.

In years past, Fort Lauderdale’s air show was always one
of the most popular events of the year with local and
visitors alike headed to the beach to view an always
spectacular aerial circus. The original air shows on Fort
Lauderdale Beach ran from 1995-2007 and were replaced
in 2012 by the current Lauderdale Air Show program.
Unfortunately, the new Air Show had to be canceled in
2014 due to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International
Airport runway construction conflicts. It was canceled
again in 2015 due to the ongoing repair work to State

Road A1A just north of E. Sunrise Boulevard after
Hurricane Sandy’s extensive damage to the beach and
road. With the airport runway work finished and the A1A
and beach repairs expected to be completed soon, the Air
Show was able to schedule its return to our Fort Lauderdale
Beach venue.

Tickets are on sale now at special intro pricing for the Drop
Zone Beach and Flight Line Club VIP viewing experience.
Visit the Air Show’s website and make your reservation
early to get the best available tickets.

Volunteer registration is also open for the 2016 Fort
Lauderdale Air Show! The volunteer corps is the heart of the
air show and they make the event happen. If you would like
to share in the adventure and be part of the team, visit
fortlauderdaleairshow.com for more info and to register.

Along with the return of the Air Show in
2016, Fort Lauderdale will also be
host to the U.S. Navy and
Broward Navy Days
annual Fleet Week visit to
Port Everglades from May 2 through May 9. This year’s
event expects to host four to five U.S. Navy and Coast
Guard vessels. Sponsorship opportunities for Fleet Week
2016 are now available by contacting Mary Anne Gray,
Executive Director, Broward Navy Days, via email at
Maryanne@browardnavydays.org.
