To all of our members and residents of The Landings.

I

am sure many of our snowbirds have already left for the summer. If you are a
neighbor living next door to one of the vacant homes, please keep an eye out for

any suspicious activity and report it if necessary. Also, it helps to pick up any throw
away newspapers on their driveways for safety as well as keeping the neighborhood
looking good.

Whether leaving your home for the summer or going on vacation, check your water
outlets. If possible, turn off the water to your house and dock. Water damage is the
Number One homeowner’s insurance claim item.

Keeping our Residents Safe:We express our appreciation to the District I Police
Officers. They periodically drive around our streets and also monitor the traffic
coming in and out of The Landings. And they specifically keep an eye out for those
who violate traffic regulations. For the year 2014, at the stop signs at 55th and
Bayview Drive, they wrote 151 primary traffic citations for not coming to a full stop.
It is commendable that The Landings residents received only four of the 151 citations.
Of those remaining 147, the majority were given to cut-through traffic with Florida
license plates.

The LRA membership committee is working on the 2015-16 Roster. If you are not a
member, please consider joining. Our dues are $50 and you can join by going to our
website www.landingsra.com
. If you have not paid your dues for 2015, please send
in as soon as possible so you will be identified as a member in the Roster. We will be
mailing out the Rosters to all paid members in June.

I would like to remind all dog owners to please respect your neighbor’s property and
pick up after your dogs. I have had some complaints about this situation. Here is
what is written in the City of Fort Lauderdale Code: Sec. 6-4. - Pets, domesticated
animals on public property
.

(c) It shall further be unlawful for a person to allow or permit a dog or other pet or
domesticated animal within that person's control to deposit animal waste (except for
law enforcement animals while on duty) upon any public or private property and to
fail to promptly remove the animal's waste from the property.

At a recent meeting with Commissioner Bruce Roberts he told us he is working very
hard to get the new waterway cleanup boat into service. He knows how much we
need our canals cleaned! Many of our canals have a lot of floating debris that not
only looks bad but can cause harm to boats, particularly plastic bags and large
pieces of wood. If your canal is really bad, call the City (954-828-8000) so when the
cleaning boat is available they will know which canals have problems.

I

Sincerely,
