President’s Message
appy New Year! The Association’s annual meeting was scheduled for
Wednesday, January 19th at Coral Ridge CC. With the recent COVID surge,
Hthe Board decided to delay that meeting until the surge subsides and/or
making it virtual as other neighborhood associations are doing. Please check the HOA
website, http://coralridgecountryclubhoa.org/ for updates. Whenever we do hold the
meeting, we will provide a Zoom option. Residents who have signed up to receive
emails from the Association will receive direct notice. If you want to be added to the
email list, please send an email to our Communications Chairperson, Michele Allen, at
michele@southernboating.com. We won’t bombard you with random emails, but
Michele has been doing an outstanding job of notifying residents of road closures and
other urgent matters as they arise.
Speaking of the Board, we need some
new members. If you have any time
you can volunteer to help make our
neighborhood better, we would
welcome and appreciate your
participation. It’s not a glamorous job,
Tim Hernandez
but it’s a necessary one and it’s a way
President
to make a difference. Specifically,
Vicki Lynch will need help with the
Security Patrol project. Jeff Stich, our
Board of Directors Treasurer, is resigning due to increased
work demands, so we ideally need
Bruce Quailey someone with an accounting
Vice President
background to replace him. We also
Jeff Stich want to update our bylaws for the
Treasurer virtual age we’re living in, so we need an attorney on the board. We have plenty of
attorneys in the neighborhood, but we don’t currently have any on the board and need one.
Vicki Lynch
Secretary
If you don’t want to be on the HOA Board, but have time to devote to one specific issue,
we need volunteers to work on some of the other initiatives described over the past few
Judy High
months, including:
David Hoenig
• Someone to be in charge of Landscaping/lighting installation and maintenance at
main entries to the neighborhood and in the roundabouts to be built on Bayview.
Danny Grant
• Someone to head up the design and installation of Ornamental street signs such as are
Brian O'Connell
found in other neighborhoods (e.g., Colee Hammock, Victoria Park, Sailboat Bend
and others).
Jason Ulbrich
• Someone to help plan and organize a Neighborhood-wide block party.
Please send me an email (at address below) if you could devote some time to one of
PO Box 39241
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33339 these initiatives, or another one you feel would make our neighborhood better.
Coralridgecountryclubhoa.org
coralridgeccehoa@gmail.com In this month’s issue we have an update on the security program from Vicki Lynch. If you
look at the NextDoor app, you’ll see many reports, in and near CRCCE, of burglaries,
trespassers, people breaking into parked cars, etc. Other neighborhoods with similar
demographics, including Harbor Beach, Rio Vista, Sunrise Intracoastal and Bermuda-
Riviera, have already implemented Off Duty Police Security Patrol programs; we want to
see ours up and running this year. The cost will be $450 for the first year.
The City finally approved the speed hump purchase in December. We should have an
update on installation schedule soon and will advise when we have it. The 'dip' on
Bayview Dr. will be fixed with the repair of leaking gravity sewer pipes causing it. It's a
$524,000+ project that our Association's months of advocacy helped make happen.
