Hello District 1 Neighbors!
e are currently experiencing the 2023 hurricane season, which runs
from June 1st through November 30th. Water temperatures have been
Wrecorded at higher than usual numbers and NOAA is forecasting (70%
certainty) that there will be 17 named storms (winds 39 mph or higher) this season.
Of those storms, 5-9 are expected to become hurricanes, and 1-4 are predicted to
develop into major hurricanes.
Please be prepared and do not wait for a storm to develop before undertaking
storm preparations to protect your family, home and yourself. Create a hurricane
supply kit now. Kits may include:

District 1 Commissioner • 3-5 days of nonperishable, ready to eat food
City of Fort Lauderdale • 3-5 days of water (1 gallon per person per day)
