services go above and
beyond Security Patrol
normal duties
EXAMPLE #1
On Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 9:00 PM Officer
Ryan McKeon was on FLPD regular police duty in
Police District 1 when a call came over the radio
for a burglar alarm at a private residence on NE
44th Street in CRCCE. Officer McKeon recognized
the address and immediately responded.
“Upon arriving on scene officers conducted an
exterior check of all doors and windows and
found the front office sliding door to be unlocked.
Officers then made multiple announcements into
the residence for occupants to make themselves
known. These announcements yielded no results.
Officers then entered the residence and cleared
each room. Nothing on the inside appeared to
be out of place or out of the ordinary. All other
doors and windows were secured, except for an
exterior door on the west side of the home that
enters the garage. Multiple attempts to contact
the homeowners were made via telephone with
negative results. I was able to speak with the
daughter-in-law who advised she lived an hour
away and that the homeowners were possibly at a
show and had their phones turned off at this time.”
(FLPD Incident Report 342506100018-1).
Officer McKeon waited for the homeowners to
and confirm that everything in their home
appeared normal.
The NE 44th Street home is a Security Patrol
member. Officer McKeon and all SP detail officers
have contact information for all SP members and
their emergency contact. Lines of communication
are a benefit to the homeowners and the officers. Officer Ryan McKeon and Officer Eric Zeplin attend the Security Patrol get together in February.
