Vice Mayor’s Message
Dear Neighbors,
As 2025 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an
extraordinary year it has been for our District 1 community and for the entire City
of Fort Lauderdale. The holiday season always inspires gratitude, and when I look
back on the past twelve months, I am filled with appreciation for all that we have
accomplished together.
This year, District 1 has continued to demonstrate what can happen when neighbors,
businesses, and city staff work hand in hand. Through collaboration and community
spirit, we have made meaningful progress in improving the quality of life for our
John Herbst residents and strengthening the foundation of our city for years to come.
Vice Mayor We have focused on enhancing our neighborhoods and protecting the character
City of Fort Lauderdale

and sustainability to improving public spaces and supporting responsible growth,
our efforts have been guided by one goal: to ensure that Fort Lauderdale remains a
beautiful, safe, and welcoming city for everyone.
One of the things I value most about our district is the strong sense of community
pride that exists here. Whether it is residents volunteering at neighborhood cleanups,
supporting local schools, or attending civic meetings, your engagement and
dedication truly set District 1 apart. It is inspiring to see so many people who care
deeply about their city and are willing to work together to make it better.
Our local businesses also deserve recognition for their continued investment and
City of Fort Lauderdale commitment to Fort Lauderdale’s success. Their hard work creates jobs, supports
1 E. Broward Blvd., Ste. 444 families, and adds to the vibrant character of our community. We are fortunate to
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301
have so many entrepreneurs and small business owners who believe in our city and
contribute to its ongoing growth.
As we look ahead, I remain committed to building on the progress we have
made together. My priority will always be to listen to residents, support thoughtful
development, and ensure that our city services continue to meet the needs of our
growing community. Working alongside my colleagues on the City Commission, I
will continue to advocate for initiatives that enhance public safety, strengthen our
Office Contact infrastructure, and preserve the quality of life that makes District 1 such a desirable
