Greetings, District 4!
hile we continue to navigate this unprecedented time and the new
standard going forward, I am pleased to share some updates regarding
W progress on ongoing projects in the District. As always, if you have any

South Ocean Drive Bridge
The South Ocean Drive Bridge project is in the bidding phase. The project is on track to
start construction in September 2020.
Bypass Road
This project entails a new County Road that will connect Federal Highway to SE 17th
Street via partial grade separation over the Port property, so that security checks are

Vice Mayor Eisenhower Blvd south of SE 17th Street heading south connecting to SR 84 east to US

as part of their Development Agreement established during the previous construction. It
is also identified in the Port Everglades Master Plan, which will go before the Broward

Feature Fireworks Around the City

Community Outreach Coordinator The Fort Lauderdale City Commission approved moving forward with the coordination
aheathcock@fortlauderdale.gov of four fireworks shows as part of Fort Lauderdale’s Independence Day Celebration.
Locations being explored for the shows currently include Holiday Park, downtown, the
north beach area, and the northwest area. The shows will not be open to spectators,
however, neighbors will be encouraged to enjoy the fireworks from their backyards and
front porches as we celebrate the 4th of July together by staying apart. As more
information becomes available, updates will be shared on the City’s website at
www.fortlauderdale.gov.
