President’s Message
General Membership Meeting
Who: Harbor Beach Property Owners
What: Restoration of Restrictive Covenants
When: Monday, October 24, 2022. Meeting begins at 6:00pm
Where: Church By The Sea, 2700 Mayan Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
When Harbor Beach Subdivisions were first formed, Declarations of Restrictive
Covenants were created and recorded on the title of each property.
These covenants set up basic guidelines and restrictions concerning the lots
in Harbor Beach and also allowed dues to be collected for the homeowner's
association responsible for security and maintenance of common areas and for
Annette Ross protecting and advocating for your property rights.
President
Due to the passage of time since the original covenants were recorded and
subsequent legislation, these rights may not be enforceable today.
Harbor Beach Property
Homeowners Association, Inc. In an effort to protect all of the property owner's rights, a Restoration of Covenants
1322 SE 17th Street Committee was formed to revive the covenants with the State of Florida.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316 See you there!

Our neighbors in Harbour Inlet have asked us to issue a very special BOLO (Be
On the Look Out) for their neighborhood Gopher Tortoise determined to cross busy

streets. Concerned for his (or is it her?) welfare and protection from oncoming
Ann Cadwalader
vehicles, neighbors are "helping" by transporting him across the street and placing
Trish Bailey-Entin him in the waterway where there is the real possibility he could drown. Gopher
Pat Riley Tortoise's are not aquatic. They are land creatures and do not swim. Please do not
Annette Ross place any Tortoise you may encounter in any body of water.

To learn more about how to help the threatened Gopher Tortoise, our local Wildlife
Care Center provided this from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation website:
Gopher Tortoise Program FWC (myFWC.com). The beach area north of Lago Mar,
The Oceanage and Harbor Beach Surf Club can provide habitat.
If you see a sick or injured Tortoise, call 850-921-1030 M-F 8AM-5PM. After hours
and weekends, call 888-404-3922 or #FWC or *FWC from your cell phone. HB
