watch.” For years, I dressed in character outfits during
the celebration and wandered the street to provide extra
cheer. I remember being so proud when it was finally the
year that my class sang together on a stage on Las Olas
for anyone and everyone. Now, as the committee chair
for Christmas On Las Olas, I work behind the scenes,
making sure that the event goes off without a hitch. It’s
my greatest pleasure in serving on the Las Olas
Association Board.
Congratulations to our new Mayor, Dean Trantalis, and
new Commissioners, including our own District 4
Commissioner, Ben Sorensen, and our District 2
Commissioner, Steven Glassman. Thank you to everyone
who took the time to vote. We are blessed to be able to
take part in such a very important part of our republic.
The peaceful transition of power is something that we
need to be thankful for.
I would also like to take the time to thank the new Las
Olas Association Board of Directors. I am appreciative of
the members of our association, and I am thankful for
everyone who is able to give back to the East Las Olas
Boulevard community.
And thank you for giving me the opportunity to give back
to a community that has given me so much. Giving back
does not have to be grand. Feel free to pick up trash on
your next walk or contact your favorite charity to see
how you can help. You do not have to wait to be
elected. Better yet, here is your election. I elect you to
give back to your community in a way that best suits you
and your talents.
