President’s Message
Las Olas Association
Perspective
ver the last month the Las Olas Association has ramped up our effort to be
a resource for our members, the City of Fort Lauderdale staff and the
Ocommunity as a whole. We are doing our best to disseminate up-to-date
information that is pertinent and factual. Our organization is no different than any
other group and we, too, face the challenges of navigating these unprecedented
times. Our perspective, like everyone’s, will be altered by these events and will
forever change how we view and operate in our new normal.
Most people live their entire lives operating through one perspective. Rarely does
someone's perspective change without the occurrence of a major event. We hold our
perspective so close that it takes a tremendous amount of energy to change it. The
most common ways that our perspective will change is when there is an accident, a
serious health diagnosis, or loss of life for a close friend or family member.
It is only natural, as we grow and progress through our lives, that we take certain

exist because enough individuals have decided to contribute the necessary energy to
bring them into existence. A safe community, an operating electrical grid, clean
