A New Mission for
Broward Health Medical Center

arlier this year, Broward Health welcomed a key leader, Manuel “Manny”
Linares to serve as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Broward Health
EMedical Center.
Linares embraced his role as the system launched a new brand and initiated a cultural
shift that encompassed every facet of the organization.
Staff at the 723-bed hospital embody the system’s new mission and vision of the
healthcare system every day. The mission to provide Exceptional Care, Extraordinary
Compassion, and Everyday Excellence, is carried out by every team member in the
institution.
“In my short time at Broward Health Medical Center, I’ve been astounded by the
dedication of the physicians and staff and the pride in the work they do and in our
hospital’s 85-year history and legacy of caring for this community,” Linares said.
Broward Health’s vision to be the champion for a healthier community sets the
foundation for everything Broward Health does. Broward Health Medical Center
Manuel “Manny” Linares & Salah Foundation’s Children’s Hospital were created to serve all the people of
Broward County and ensure patients receive exceptional, compassionate healthcare.
“Throughout my healthcare career, I’ve set themes for the year to help focus on a singular overarching goal for us to collectively
achieve,” Linares said. “The theme for 2024 for staff at Broward Health Medical Center is the Year of Experience.”
Linares, along with the hospital’s caregivers, is focused on expanding five key service lines to meet the growing needs of this
community: Cardiac Services, Cancer Services, Neurosciences, Women’s Services, and Surgical Services.
Broward Health Medical Center offers a distinct advantage to
the community as a Level I trauma hospital boasting advanced,
quality healthcare.
“As our population grows and changes, we are growing and changing
with them. Together, with our academic partners and medical staff, we
are training the next generation of healthcare providers, ensuring that
our legacy continues,” Linares said.
Linares also has strong South Florida ties. He spent 30 years at Tenet
Healthcare Corporation in various leadership roles, including chief
executive officer and chief operating officer of North Shore Medical
Center, as well as chief operating officer of North Ridge Medical Center.
