LOA Update
Summer
Sailing through
W ell, that went by quick… Summer break I meant, not the heat. I hope that
you all have had an adventurous summer filled with great food, amazing
family, and tons of fun! Our schools are back in session and we now move
toward Fall which starts on September 22nd this year. Las Olas Boulevard has been
busy during this hot summer and we were happy to see so many locals and visitors
Jodi Tanner strolling about. I have met people from all over the world this summer while dining on
Vice President
Las Olas Association the boulevard (you know I like to chat). And so many of them shared their experiences
and stories of great outings, shopping and wonderful dinners on Las Olas Boulevard
and in beautiful sunny South Florida. I heard and felt lots of Local Love!
Our first Annual Christmas in July was lots of fun! Water Taxi, the Las Olas
Association, Winterfest and the Las Olas Company were all sponsors of the event.
OFFICERS Merchants on the boulevard participated by having drink, dining and sweet treat
giveaways and specials as well as creating a festive atmosphere with lots of reindeer
Luke Moorman antlers and Christmas music. The waterways were also festive as Santa chose Fort
President
Lauderdale as his vacation destination, inspiring many to join him on special Santa
Jodi Jeffreys-Tanner Christmas Cruises on the Water Taxi. After the cruises, kids and adults alike posed
Vice President with Santa as he strolled along Las Olas. Santa and his elves checked the “Santa’s
Dave Bell Mailboxes” for those letters to Santa with wish lists that were written by all the good
Secretary boys and girls. (I may have written a letter to Santa!) The paparazzi was excited and
so were we to bring a little Christmas joy and early shopping in July to the boulevard.
Caroline Carrara Next year is going to be so much fun! Let’s all participate and stay tuned for details…
