Some of our Successes in 2022
auderdale Harbors joined Rio Vista for a joint Holiday Party at the Virginia S.
Young Park. Music, food, beverages and a visit from Santa were shared with
Lall. I want to acknowledge John Calabrese and the Lauderdale Harbors Board
Ed Rebholz for organizing this festive event.
President This is not the first time we’ve partnered with Rio Vista. In late 2021 we jointly
Lauderdale Harbors installed a license plate reader camera at our common southern entry way. Since
Improvement Association
lauderdaleharbors@gmail.com then, crime and stolen automobiles have been dramatically reduced. In addition to
reducing crime, Rio Vista and Lauderdale Harbors jointly saved over $100,000 by
eliminating the addition of several cameras that each organization had planned to
buy and install.
TEAM LHIA These cameras are helping local Police solve crimes and assisted in solving two
murder cases in 2021-2022. They are putting criminals in jail and keeping them
off the streets.
OFFICERS We are looking forward to strengthening our relationships with neighboring
Associations.
President
Ed Rebholz We have been working on reducing the commercialization in our residential
community. Last year we had a nice win in the Special Magistrate Court but
Treasurer unfortunately that was overruled in a late-night meeting without any residential
John Calabrese
participation by the now fired city attorney. The Team will continue to fight
BOARD MEMBERS commercialization in our residential community.
Anna Carpenter Our 13th Street bridge has never looked better, thanks to several volunteers who
decorated and lit up the bridge for the holiday as well the two decorated entrance
Christina Deushle signs on Cordova Road.
Patty Hawk The Cliff Lake fish, ducks and turtles are doing fine since late 2021 when the fish
Kstie Zabrowski kill that killed (400+ fish) happened. The City installed aerators into Cliff Lake.
Since then, the animals are doing fine.
Also, in 2023 we will see the new design for 13th Street bridge. They will
also select a vendor to do the replacement of the second oldest bridge in Fort
Lauderdale. The new bridge will have 4-foot sidewalks that are ADA compliant
and a security gate for safety.
From the Board of Lauderdale Harbors, we wish all a very happy, healthy, and
prosperous New Year!
