RVCA President’s Message
hank you to all the Rio Vista Civic Association member household
representatives who attended the January 28, 2019 General Meeting. Not
Tonly did we have a quorum in attendance at a General Meeting for the first
time since 2015 but we had more than double the requirement. Member household
representatives in attendance unanimously voted in opposition to the AHF project as
currently proposed. The position was transmitted to our Commission and
disseminated throughout our neighborhood. Additionally, member household
representatives in attendance were asked to vote on a bylaws amendment which
was unanimously supported by the RVCA Board of Directors at our January 10,
2019 board meeting. There was no vote on the motion as it was requested that the
vote be tabled until the next General Meeting to provide further clarification on the
intent of the amendments the Board put forward to the General Membership. As I
write this the Officers are working on an explanation to aid residents on the matter
Christina Currie, Esq. at that next General Meeting.
President Guest Speakers at the January 28th General Meeting included our new City
Manager Chris Lagerbloom, Joe Kenney the Asst. Director of Public Works, and our
OFFICERS neighborhood Code Compliance Officer, Lois Turowski. Feedback from residents on
President clean-up after special events and Halloween was transmitted to Parks and
Christina Currie, Esq. Recreation as promised. Please keep in mind that for any special event occurring on
president@riovistaonline.com
a Saturday the City will not be pick-up event trash until Monday. It was also
Vice President requested that Parks staff do a clean-up of small debris in the grass.
