There are two ongoing major studies being conducted in our Air Space. The FAA
14 CFR Part 150 noise and land use compatibility study and the FAA South-Central
Florida Metroplex (airspace) project.
The FAA 14 CFR Part 150 noise and land use compatibility study was initiated by
Broward Country and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood international Airport. The focus
of this is on noise abatement measures, land use measures and program
management measures.
The South-Central Florida Metroplex Project would improve the efficiency of
airspace in the South-Central Florida Metroplex area by optimizing aircraft arrival
and departure procedures to and from various airports using the newest technology
to improve safety and be more environmentally sound.
