                                                          RVCA President’s Message

Joint Outdoor Neighborhood Social Was A Success!
Thanks to the many residents and friends who came out to Southside Cultural Arts
Center on May 30th for our First Joint Neighborhood Social with RVCA, Downtown Fort
Lauderdale Civic Association, and Tarpon River Civic Association. It was a beautiful day
with lots of free drinks, great live music, a cooking demonstration, and a canvas
painting class. The event takes place on the last Sunday of every month all summer and
we hope to see you there.
Summer in our Neighborhood Parks - Coming Soon?
As of the date of this writing, VY Park and Hector Park have been inaccessible to
residents for a year and half. This has been a tough time for kids and caregivers to be
without convenient and regular access to our neighborhood parks. Together with my
colleagues on the RVCA Board, we continue to push for wrap-up of these projects.
Thanks again to the residents who joined RVCA in working side by side on the design
Christina Currie, Esq. of both of these parks with the City during multiple surveys, Zoom meetings and more
President leading up to the site plan approvals by the Parks Board and Commission. Hopefully, by
the time this hits your mailbox, the sounds of construction are being replaced by the
OFFICERS sounds of kids playing. It’s been a long process and I am eager for it to be behind us.
                       President
