RVCA President’s Message
n September 29, 2019 Rio Vista was the Featured Neighborhood during
“Fort Lauderdale Neighbor Day” at the NSU Art Museum. Thank you to
Oall of our Rio Vista friends and families who came out to participate in the
event. The RVCA Annual Holiday Party, organized by Board Member Nancy
Messing, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December, 7th at VY Park. Please
save the date for this family friendly event and bring your letters to Santa with you!
Nancy works very hard to convince Santa to pass by the party. On Saturday,
December 14th, set up a blanket and join neighbors in viewing the Winterfest Boat
Parade at Frances L. Abreu Park.

The 2019 RVCA Board’s efforts on
Sam Koster
improving traffic safety are finally
Eladio Perez starting to come together. FLPD officers
Rob Ward have recently issued around 70 citations to
individuals violating traffic laws in our
Warren Sturman
Immediate Past President neighborhood. Improvements to signage and road markings
have been made at Davie/9th Avenue and Ponce/9th
COUNSEL TO THE BOARD Avenue. We will soon know if SE 9th Avenue (from 11th
Charles Tatelbaum Court to North of SE 6 Street) qualifies for additional traffic
calming measures as the County traffic study was recently
finished. With regard to a traffic study from Federal to
Cordova on SE 9th Street, the City is currently working on
obtaining a provider to get the study scheduled. I’d like to
thank Dane Edselle of Public Works for arranging to have
