                                       New Overnight Patrol Program

“Protect the Isles and Cordova Rd” – Real Police, Real Protection

Dear Isles and Cordova Rd. Homeowners,

ver the past year, Rio Vista, particularly Cordova
Rd. and the Isles, have seen an increase in crime.
OThis must be addressed. We all care for our
             family’s safety and the well-being of the Rio Vista community;
therefore, we must take immediate action.
A group of concerned homeowners from the Isles have begun
funding a supplemental “Protect the Isles and Cordova Rd”
police patrol, which is an addition to the patrol coverage
currently funded by your Protect Rio Vista membership. This
new supplemental program is designed to increase the patrol
on the most crime-targeted streets during the overnight hours.
It has already begun with a current budget to operate four (4)
nights per week, six (6) hours per night, through December,
             thanks to donations from homeowners.

Here’s what sets this program apart from other plans: These
are not private security guards — they are sworn police
officers who are part of our patrol program which has been
active since 2008, with full authority to stop, pursue, and
arrest. Unlike private security, who can only observe and
report, these officers can take real action, enforce the law,
and keep criminals out of our neighborhood.

The first overnight patrol began on October 1 and within hours
a suspicious vehicle stop led to an arrest and multiple citations.

To fund this program beyond December, we are asking for
every household benefiting from the increased security to
participate by paying an additional annual fee of $1500. The
higher the participation, the more patrol hours.
The RVCA has added to the website membership page so that
the participating waterfront homeowners can make payments
             through the website:
