Commissioner’s Message

                                                  Hello District-1 Neighbors!

                                                 I
greatly appreciated the opportunity to attend the LRA Annual Meeting in March
and to personally meet and talk with residents of The Landings about the issues
of importance to you. I am excited to share with you my most recent progress in
negotiations and projects here in your neighborhood. Most recently, I have been
committed to community enhancements such as the building of Lockhart Park, a
much-needed hospital, and innovative transportation options in the beach area.
I am pleased to announce that negotiations with Inter Miami are moving along and
we will have the broad outline of an agreement in place in a couple weeks. I am
dedicated to getting Lockhart Park built and am working tirelessly to bring this to
John Herbst fruition as soon as possible. We are all excited about the prospect of this park and

As part of my efforts to maintain the health and well-being of the neighbors of
District 1, I have been working in cooperation with Broward Health to bring a 12-
bed emergency hospital to the community. The hospital will be sited on two parking
lots adjacent to the Beach Community Center. We plan to utilize the two parking lots
and vacate a right of way between them to construct the new building. The hospital
will maintain the area parking, provide emergency medical care, and offer medical
offices for physicians. This project is much-needed, and I am thrilled to have made
                                                  significant progress towards its completion.

In addition to the park and hospital projects, I am also excited to bring a point-
City Hall, 8th Floor to-point micromobility company, Circuit, to the beach area. The prospective
100 N Andrews Ave routes for Circuit will run from Galt to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and up and down
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311 the Commercial Boulevard corridor. This initiative will offer a new, innovative
transportation option to our community, making it easier for people to travel around
the beach area. I believe that Circuit will enhance our community’s mobility and add
a unique aspect to the local experience.
