President’s Message
Summer is officially here but the
board work continues!
ur Landings Membership Directory is at the printer and will be distributed as
soon as we receive it! A big thank you to Kathy Cool who works throughout
Othe year to keep the resident information updated. We currently have 189
members in our Association and this directory is one of the great benefits of joining!
We have been accepted into the City’s Green Your Routine Program (GYR).
Through our various efforts to green our routine, we will have the opportunity
to gain sustainability initiative points, which will then be turned into monetary
Helena Cooper disbursements depending on how much effort we put in. We will be learning more
PRESIDENT
helena@coopgroupllc.com about ways we can get involved in the upcoming week.
We would like to see ourselves as a neighborhood on the cutting edge of new
OFFICERS
initiatives to better and maintain the beautiful neighborhood and city we live in. One
VICE PRESIDENT of these initiatives is a canal clean-up program we are exploring in collaboration with
Anne Maschmeyer the Seabin Project. Kevin O’Neill provided an in-depth communication regarding his
annemasch@yahoo.com
efforts in securing the Seabins for The Landings. His communication was shared with
SECRETARY City Sanitation Department’s Program’s Manager, Melissa Doyle. Further meetings
Dana Mullaney are expected to expand the city’s support in this effort. Please refer to page six for

more details on the Seabin Project from Kevin.
TREASURER
Kathleen Cool In conjunction with Kevin O’Neill’s lead on the Seabins canal cleanliness project,
kacool1@aol.com the city contracts with Aquatic Control Group for the removal of debris from our
many waterways within the city. If you experience a significant accumulation of
tidal debris in your canal, call the 24-hour City of Fort Lauderdale Customer
BOARD MEMBERS Service number (954-828-8000) and request they issue a Q-Alert for clean up in
the area. Since tidal debris tends to accumulate consistently in certain areas,
Cheryl Becker
becker_cheryl@hotmail.com advising the city of these accumulations helps them better manage their contractor
services on a going-forward basis.
Helen Bennett
helenbennettnj@gmail.com The work to improve our medians and entrances is now moving from design to
Scott Cooper implementation with upgrades to plantings at the entry columns scheduled for mid-
scott@coopgroupllc.com July. Upgrades to the Bayview Drive median plantings are expected to begin by
Ronnie Dennis early September. 110-volt lighting has been installed at the bridge monument
fishinfam@aol.com columns on South Bayview Drive and NE 55th Street, replacing the solar lights
which often got damaged. The Board has approved a budgeted amount for the
Diane Dodich
dionline94@aol.com installation of 110-volt power to the two flag poles, as well, and we are currently
working through the engineering and permit process for those.
Michael Maschmeyer
mike@urbanrooftops.com FPL commenced the conversion of the streetlights to LED on 5/14/23. A giant
Shahina Siddiqi 'Thank you!' goes out to Tom Brinkley for being our advocate and liaison with the
shahina507@yahoo.com city on all these fronts. The Board would also like to thank all who participated in
the first annual camera maintenance contribution drive. Contributors included
residents not only from The Landings but also from Lake Estates and Bay Colony.
All neighborhoods are beneficiaries of this security measure. The cameras are
monitored and utilized by the FLPD and have assisted in solving crime in our area.
I wish you all a wonderful summer!
