President's Message
The Landings Residential Association
Greetings Neighbors,
our board has been working diligently for you over the summer. By the time you
receive this magazine I hope our new yardarm and flags at the south entrance to
YThe Landings on Bayview Drive is up. If necessary, we will add landscaping to
make it look as good as the yardarm at the north entrance to The Landings. Thanks to
the hard work of Dana Mullaney, the City of Fort Lauderdale donated the yardarm and
installation costs. If you see Dana give her a big “thank you”.
The chevrons on the speed tables and the bike lane are scheduled to be repainted
by the city in the near future.
The board decided at our last board meeting that it would be good for everyone in
The Landings if we could arrange a contract with a pest removal company to
relocate the iguana’s in the neighborhood. This would not be a one-time contract but
a continuing contract to maintain the iguana population. This is in the beginning
stages so I don’t have any more information for you yet. I will keep you informed.
Mike Watson, President Security Patrol Update
Landings Residential Association
The response regarding hiring supplemental security patrol officers for the
neighborhood has been less than 50%. Therefore we will not be able to make
those arrangements. Those owners who paid the additional money for the security
patrol will be refunded those funds in full. Please allow several weeks for those
OFFICERS checks to be processed.
President
Mike Watson Security gates and cameras
wizardwats@msn.com
We are still in the process of determining the feasibility of acquiring security gates
Vice President and cameras at the entrances to The Landings. We are continuing to work with the
Diane Dodich city to determine feasibility and cost of acquiring these gates and cameras. This is a
Secretary process that will take many months to consider. Please be patient as we work
Dana Mullaney through this.
Treasurer So far all of the responses I have
Steve Lawrence received from residents of The
Landings from the survey in the
DIRECTORS magazine last month regarding
Kathleen Cool the security gates and cameras
are in favor of going forward and
AnnMarie Dari
have sent the check for $60. I
Myra Freeman
have received three responses that
Priti Maheswari are opposed. All of the negative
Susan Peirson responses came in an envelope
Jim Becker with no name or return address and
Tim Levin are not signed and I believe they all
came from other neighborhoods and
Ronnie Dennis
not The Landings.
