                                              President’s Message

n this month’s issue we are providing updates on traffic calming initiatives in the
neighborhood (p.12) and the security program (p.16). These projects take a lot of
I time and they cost money. We are also providing minutes of our Board meeting and
our Treasurer’s report which illustrate our dwindling resources, as our membership has
dropped dramatically, no doubt due to the pandemic.
Our board has not stopped working during this time. Just before the pandemic, we got
the new entry monuments completed. During the pandemic, we have been focusing on
implementing the traffic calming measures. But we would like to do more. We have had
                                              requests for:
                                              • More traffic calming measures
                                              • Faux guardhouses
                                              • Landscaping (installation and maintenance) around and uplighting of the
                                                entry monuments
                                              • Ornamental street signs such as are found in other neighborhoods (e.g., Colee
Hammock, Victoria Park, Sailboat Bend and others)
                                              • License plate readers
Tim Hernandez • Specimen trees in the Bayview roundabouts
                       President
The Board is happy to keep working (for free…we’re all volunteers) on these and other
items, but we need your financial support to pay for the physical improvements. We
don’t have a mandatory Homeowner’s Association fee like all new communities have. So
we are counting on your voluntary contributions. This is an affluent neighborhood. Please

fill out the form on p. 6 and send back with your check for $100 so we can keep
Bruce Quailey working on making our neighborhood better. It’s not a lot of money, but we won’t waste
Vice President it. I’m confident you’ll get a good bang for your buck.
