While guards cannot legally deny access to public streets,
they can and are able to slow vehicles to ensure proper entry
protocol. This procedure is essential for:
• Safety: Preventing piggybacking and accidents
• Screening: License plate readers are integrated with the
Fort Lauderdale Police Department and can flag warrants
and stolen vehicles
• Identification: Requiring drivers to roll down windows
