                         LPR CAMERAS

              RVCA moving forward

              with installation of

              LPR Cameras

              Our RVCA Vice President,
              Mark Snead, has been
              working for over a year
              with Fort Lauderdale
              Police Department and
              various contractors on the
              purchase and install of
              Fixed License Plate
Readers in Rio Vista. We are happy to announce that we
have signed a contract for two installations. Through the
generosity of a Rio resident who gave a challenge gift of
$10,000 to support these installations and perhaps a third
location. We are delighted that our generous neighbors
have donated the full $10,000! A special thanks to Liz
Caldwell for closing out the match. We still need funds for
additional installations so please consider donating. You
may do so by going to our web page at
riovistaonline.com/membership and scroll down to the
              DONATE button.
Here is a bit of background on the cameras.
The system features a rugged and compact
dual-lens (infrared and color) LPR camera
              engineered for extreme conditions. The
              camera recognizes license plates in
the camera’s field of view, matches
              against various agency hotlists and
notifies law enforcement of matches. The system can also
stream live video to a separate location such as a video
management system. criminal investigations. FLPD will have the ability to
                                                                    customize the system.
The data obtained by the Cameras would be managed
by law enforcement...not the Rio Vista Civic Association. On behalf of RVCA’s Board of Directors we’d like to give
If a vehicle of interest enters Rio Vista the system will alert a special thank you to the residents who have already
FLPD. Alerts will aid FLPD in identifying stolen vehicles made a financial contribution to support this installation.
and other vehicles entering or leaving the neighborhood. If you or your business would like to sponsor a camera
Data obtained will provide FLPD more information for please email Mark Snead,vp@riovistaonline.com RV
