RVCA President’s Message
’d like to extend my gratitude to Rio Vista residents for being active neighbors in
the month of January. In particular, two RVCA events were a success thanks to
Ithe engagement of residents.
Fort Lauderdale United Day In Honor of MLK Day of Service, January 18th
This year on Fort Lauderdale United Day we partnered with the Downtown Fort
Lauderdale Civic Association and held a drive thru donation drop at Stranahan
Landing. We collected more donations than all other Fort Lauderdale
neighborhoods combined and we raised 500 points towards the NCIP grant
program which will help fund future improvements in Rio Vista. Collections were
distributed via the City’s Neighbor Volunteer Office to over 200 elementary school
students in Fort Lauderdale experiencing homelessness during the COVID-19
pandemic at North Side, North Fork, and Walker Elementary Schools. Businesses
and residents interested in this ongoing relief effort should contact Jorg Hruschka,
jhruschka@fortlauderdale.gov.

a CIP request for the purpose of evaluating and improving the Cordova/12th
President
Christina Currie, Esq. intersection. Transportation and Mobility staff has already drafted the request which
