LHIA President’s Message
am happy to share the news that House Bill 987 concerning the State of Florida
regulating short-term rentals has been defeated and local regulations apply.
ISpring Break this year really took a toll on South Florida neighborhoods where
short-term rentals exist.
The LHIA Board has begun working in cooperation with the City to update the pump
station wall to look like our 15th Street entry wall. The new logo has been well
received and I hear compliments all the time from other neighborhoods. While the
north side of the wall will have the wave logo and raised letters, Rio Vista has opted
to keep the same look on their south side, but it will be painted to match Lauderdale
Harbors. It’s a slow process, but I am excited to see it underway.
Our LHIA representative to Green Your Routine has asked for some space to help us
Barbara Magill understand the rumors about recycling. Also, I have been hearing about people
President, throwing trash in others’ bins without permission. Please be a respectful neighbor.
