RVCA President’s Message
Hello Rio Vista Neighbors,
Summer is nearly over and I know most of you are looking forward to a break in the
weather. I, for one, can’t wait for the Fall!
The heat of the summer didn’t slow up the RVCA board who have been busy working
on neighborhood improvements and planning our calendar for the rest of the year.
Here are some highlights:
We worked with the Parks Dept which oversees much of the landscaping at some of
our key locations in the neighborhood. The new landscaping at the pump station at
Cordova and 12th is the newest improvement. After meeting with Marty Zidtowecki,
City Urban Landscape Designer, we got the exact design we asked for with both
signage and foliage.
After listening to our residents about speeding on NRVB, we worked with Traffic and
Mobility to explore any traffic calming options and ultimately the recommendation
was to add speed radar signs to the street. This may sound simple, but it takes many
emails and multiple meetings to accomplish these changes.
We have heightened the focus on improving safety and security in Rio Vista. On
July 28th we held our first webinar on the topic of safety and security with key
speakers addressing very specific issues which many of you have expressed concerns
about. We have developed a plan and are fundraising to put in place more License
Plate Readers, working with our patrol and the police department to tighten up the
overnight police presence and more.
By the time this hits your mailbox, we will UPCOMING
