New Whole Foods Market now open

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Whole Foods Market opened
its’ new 47,000-square-foot store on the northwest corner
of Federal Highway and 17th Street at 501 SE 17th St.
in Fort Lauderdale.

This is the retailer’s second location in Fort Lauderdale.
The first, at 2000 N Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale,
Florida, opened in 1997.
All food at Whole Foods Market must meet the company’s
rigorous quality standards, which prohibit hydrogenated
fats, high-fructose corn syrup and over 100 preservatives,
flavors, colors, sweeteners and other ingredients commonly
found in food. In addition, all beauty and body care
products must meet the company’s body care standards,
which ban more than 100 commonly used ingredients,
including phthalates, parabens and microbeads.
