                BLOCK PARTY Wrap Up

             T
hank you to everyone who came out on November 5th for our
Annual Landings Residential Association Block Party. It was great
to connect with old friends and welcome new neighbors to the
Landings. We switched things up a bit this year with a Chili Cook-Off.
The chili was amazing and a good time was had by all.
Special thanks to all of our Chili Cook-Off participants. The participants
included Anne Bolton, Mark Clifton, Julie Jackson, Susan Crane, Lou
Cesare, Jim Casto, Robin Jones, Scott Cooper, Irma Brinkley, Triana
Nania, Larry Krisman and Julie Carney. Congratulations to our First
Place winner for overall best chili - Triana Nania - who came well
prepared for the challenge with her beef ancho chili. Second Place
went to Scott Cooper who took us in a new direction with his tasty Thai
chicken curry chili. Robin Jones, who brought her creative potato boats
and traditional homestyle chili took third place overall. Again, thank
you to all of our chefs! We appreciate your time and generous support.
In addition to the cook-off, we featured a basket raffle as a fundraising
element this year. Proceeds will be used to fund future social activities
for association members. A huge thanks to all of our neighbors who
purchased raffle tickets and especially to those who donated beautiful
baskets, gift certificates, wine, merchandise and much more to make
             this fundraiser a huge success.

Events like the block party require lots of helping hands. A huge shout
out to Liz Casto, Julie Carney and Kathy Cool for serving on the event
committee, and to Cheryl Becker, Mary Schneider, Jim Casto, Mike
Maschmeyer, Scott Cooper and Helena Cooper for volunteering on
event day. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Lastly, I’d like to thank our neighbors on 55th Lane for sharing their cul-
de-sac and accommodating our event once again.
If you’d like to get involved as a volunteer on the Social Committee,
please reach out. I’d love to work with you on other events for the
             upcoming season.
