Re: FPL Pole Replacements along W. Lake Drive
Following is the letter we received from FPL’s representative
Dominic Gayle regarding this program. Dominic also sent the
image illustrations as shown to better illustrate the work.
             Good Morning Annette & Maria,
As was discussed Friday, the below describes our current outlook
for the Harbor Beach Community along W Lake Drive. The Feeder
Hardening Program will be replacing the overhead poles along
W Lake Drive and Mercedes Drive. The impacted work area is
detailed in the file named “Port 70-1432 Scope”.
Poles without location numbers are not within the scope of the
Feeder Hardening Program. For example, poles along Del
Lago Cir will not be replaced. The aforementioned poles are
classified as laterals and will be addressed by the Storm Secure
Undergrounding Program (SSUP). Currently, there are no near-
term plans for the laterals in the Harbor Beach Community.

Field conditions require some overhead facilities to be placed
underground via directional boring. The affected areas are
near the 1st bridge along W Lake Drive and the property at
             1645 E Lake Drive.
The file named “Detail A” provides a high-level plan to perform
two (2) underground bores, which will remove FPL wires crossing
the 1st bridge and allow the removal of the downguy at
             1645 E Lake Drive.
The FPL wires crossing the other bridges along W Lake Drive will
be replaced aerially as part of the Feeder Hardening Program.
Please note that within the limitations of the Feeder Hardening
Program, the poles at locations 51, 50, 49, and 48 will remain.
The FPL wires between poles 48 and 49 will be removed. An
additional pole will be required between poles 51 and 50.
The Harbor Beach community has expressed a strong desire to
place all facilities underground. To halt the Feeder Hardening
Program, the community must submit a deposit to the local
             service center.
             Thank you,

             Dominic Gayle

             Florida Power & Light
Again, this will be presented and discussed at the Annual
Meeting on January 8, 2025. Hope to see you there! HB
