LOA Update

I have GREAT news so hold your Elf hats! Santa is going to be here
vacationing in Fort Lauderdale for the 2nd Annual “Christmas in July
OKon Las Olas”. Our Association is excited to again be partnering with
Jodi Tanner the amazing Water Taxi and fabulous Winterfest teams to bring some Christmas fun and
Vice President festiveness to the boulevard in July. This is a one-day event, to be held on Saturday, July
Las Olas Association 22nd beginning at 11:30 am through last calls. The festivities will be broken up into two
segments: the morning segment will be family oriented with Winterfest Santa and a
special Water Taxi cruise with holiday music and fun, followed in the afternoon and
evening by events for the adult crowd with a “Jingle Bells and Naughty Elves” theme.
Kicking off the morning events, ‘The Golf Cart Christmas Parade’ starts at 11:30 am on
OFFICERS Las Olas and SE 6th Street and will proceed up and down the boulevard. It will feature
Luke Moorman vacationing Santa, his Elves and a lot of Christmas Jingles. The Jolly man will make many
President “Santa Stops” at various participating merchants and restaurants as well at stops at the
three Santa’s Mailboxes locations: the Riverside Hotel, Kilwins and Hoff’s House of
Jodi Jeffreys-Tanner Sweets. Sweet treats will be handed out to the little ones who write wish list letters to

Santa. Photo opps will be available up and down the boulevard as well as at the Water
Dave Bell Taxi prior to boarding the cruise. Speaking of boarding at the Water Taxi, The New
Secretary River Café and Bakery, located at the Water Taxi stop promenade, will be having a fun
Caroline Carrara event with a Junior Bake-Off competition sponsored by the Riverside Hotel. For more

The “Jingle Bells and Naughty Elves” segment will begin in the afternoon and go
throughout the evening with special festive drinks available at participating merchants
DIRECTORS followed by a Naughty Elf adult-only Water Taxi Cruise at 6:30 pm. Elf attire is heartily
encouraged, with prizes for the best dressed elf! Music, Christmas fun and holiday

libations will be had during the evening cruise for about and hour and a half. After
John Gattuso the cruise, the party goers will stroll down the boulevard and visit many of the various
participating restaurants, bars and merchants who are having Christmas in July specials

and Christmas-themed deals. I've also heard that the New River Café and Bakery will be
Oualid Iaouadi handing out alcohol infused pastries… sounds like a win-win!
