The Landings Residential Association

Greetings Neighbors,

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Before I begin my update I would like to take this
opportunity to thank the board members who volunteered
and served so faithfully this past year.

Supplemental Security Patrol Update
s you are aware we have been discussing ways to improve safety and
reduce crime in The Landings for several years. After much consideration the
Aboard has voted to make a change that will provide for some supplemental
security patrols for our neighborhood.
At the annual meeting on February 16, 2017 a vote was taken of the members in
attendance regarding hiring supplemental security patrols for The Landings. The
minutes of that meeting at item G state that "The resolution regarding the hiring of a
Mike Watson, President part-time off duty police security patrol for The Landings passed".

During this year we have consulted with the people in the Rio Vista Civic Association
who have been providing supplemental security patrols for their voluntary association
for approximately ten years. Their association increased their annual dues from $35
a year to $400 a year. Of that amount $365 was set aside in a separate bank
OFFICERS account to pay for the supplemental security patrols. Following their advice and
President example our board has approved a proposal on how we can accomplish this for our
Mike Watson neighborhood at our board meeting on November 14, 2018.

At that meeting on November 14, the board voted to approve increasing the
Vice President annual dues to $400. Of that amount $350 would be set aside in a separate bank
Diane Dodich account for the purpose of paying for supplemental security patrols. Those who pay
Secretary the full dues amount including the security fee will receive benefits such as signs in
Dana Mullaney their yards to indicate their participation, additional security and monitoring while
Treasurer on vacation, a specified confidential phone number directly to the security officer
Steve Lawrence on patrol so that a response to any unusual activity can be prompt, etc.
Funds set aside for the supplemental security patrols will be accumulated in the
DIRECTORS separate bank account until sufficient funds are available to enter into a contract for the

based upon how much we have received for security, we will be able to determine

Because there may be some residents or owners who would like to participate in
