George Mihaiu, President & Publisher
George Mihaiu (pronounced Me-high) is president and founder of Fort Lauderdale Media Associates, Inc., and personally directs all the company’s projects and publications. With 30+ years of award-winning, international custom publishing experience for clients such as the Port of Los Angeles, Port of Miami, Port Everglades, the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) and Broward Health, he brings extensive publishing, marketing and business development expertise to FLMA publications. Since selling his former port publishing company to a major maritime industry publisher in 2006 (and taking a 2-yr sabbatical), he’s turned to local Fort Lauderdale publishing projects and serves as publisher for a number of Fort Lauderdale HOAs, civic and business associations. Beginning in 2008, he transformed the Rio Vista Civic Association’s neighborhood newsletter into a full-color, magazine-style publication. The upgrade to magazine-style and design proved hugely successful and George was quickly sought out by other high-profile, east Fort Lauderdale neighborhood associations to produce official neighborhood magazines for their neighborhoods. In 2015, George created LAS OLAS BOULEVARD & ISLES MAGAZINE and partnered with the Las Olas Association to publish the only magazine in Fort Lauderdale exclusively showcasing Las Olas Boulevard’s world-class downtown, Las Olas Boulevard and Isles business and residential area. It has since become the official magazine of the LOA and one of the fastest growing magazines in Fort Lauderdale over the past several years. Aside from his publishing pursuits, George has long had a keen interest in Fort Lauderdale city affairs and served as a member of the city’s Economic Development Advisory Board from 2011-2014. He frequently interacts with City officials and staff on the many civic issues and takes great pride in having seen and participated in the dynamic growth of Fort Lauderdale’s business community and the sustainability efforts of its residential neighborhoods.
Ann Mihaiu, Vice President & Associate Publisher
Ann joined husband George Mihaiu in Fort Lauderdale Media Associates, Inc. in late 2013 after spending over seven years in the not-for-profit sector with PACE Center for Girls – Broward as Development Coordinator for Fundraising. Prior to her time at PACE, she was with AT&T Wireless for 10+ years in retail sales, dealer training & development and retail store development. Ann serves as chief sales and administrative executive for FLMA with responsibility for all ad sales, civic affairs participation and business development efforts. With her Fortune 500 administrative experience and local connections throughout the Fort Lauderdale philanthropic and not-for-profit community, she is an integral contributor to all FLMA publication programs as well as a facilitator and service specialist for clients and customers. Ann’s community interests include being a Board member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, where she also serves as a Chamber Diplomat helping new members to become acquainted with the many Chamber resources available to them.
